- Nikkei Concerns announces its new CEO!
Cynthia A. Shiota will serve as Chief Executive Officer beginning November
29. Ms. Shiota is the former director of the Seattle Aquarium and has
served as a strategic advisor in non-profit, governmental and corporate
settings. She succeeds Catherine Kanda who has served as CEO since 1994.
Welcome Cyndi! And good luck to Catherine in her future endeavors.

Keiro
- Thank you to the 38 volunteers from
the Bank of America who participated in United Way's Day of Caring at
Seattle Keiro and KIDcare. The hardworking volunteers spent a full day
scrubbing both the interior and exterior of seven vehicles, cleaning
furniture, windows and walls; and cleaning up the KIDcare playground.
Your hard work is appreciated!

- Thank you to Microsoft Volunteers
Kokoro Kai thanks Microsoft volunteers for making our annual
picnic successful on Day of Caring, September 17th. We hope to see them
next year again!
- We need volunteers! Kokoro Kai volunteers
are planning to sell their famous takuwan
(Japanese pickles) at the Ayame Kai Holiday Fair on November
20. We need strong helpers who can move boxes of jars on November 16th
and 17th (especially Wednesday the 17th.) Please contact Naoko Ulstein

- Wishlist - Bingo Prizes needed (soap,
shampoo, hand lotion, hairbrush, comb, notepads, pens, water bottle,

for the Holiday Fair (between 11/12 and 11/15.)
