Kokoro Kai Receives $17K!

The Glaser Foundation of Bellevue recently awarded a $17,000 grant to Kokoro Kai’s nutrition project.

With the support of the Glaser Foundation, over 3,000 warm and nutritious meals will be served to Kokoro Kai participants in 2007.

Many thanks to the Glaser Foundation and its staff for all of the enthusiasm and support for this project!

Nikkei Concerns' New Outpatient Therapy Program

Nikkei Concerns offers quality outpatient rehabilitation care at Seattle Keiro!

On December 4th, Seattle Keiro opened its doors to its comprehensive rehabilitation clinic for residents and members of the general public.

A team of highly skilled and professional clinicians – physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists – will work with you to maximize your safety and independence. You will benefit from individualized treatment programs developed in consultation with your doctor.

Services include, but are not limited to, orthopedic, neurological, degenerative, and communication health concerns.

  • Speech Therapy
Outpatient therapy requires a referral from a physician and provider.

CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL IN WASHINGTON DC*
This is the first cross-country tour offered by Nikkei Horizons!
For five fun-filled days, visit numerous historical sites and monuments (including the National Japanese American Memorial), tour the White House, enjoy cruises, shopping, and dinner theater, as well as the National Cherry Blossom Festival! You'll also take in the Smithsonian Institution and National Museum and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
This tour will fill quickly, so sign up ASAP! There will be a lot of walking on this tour, so wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

NEW CLASSES STARTING IN JANUARY!

JAPANESE CONVERSATION FOR FUN!
This class is designed for people who have basic knowledge of the Japanese language. You will learn current Japanese words and make simple conversations, such as for traveling or in everyday life. You are not allowed to use English in the class. But do not worry, our new instructor, Miyuki Mitsumoto, will assist you in Japanese to gain your Japanese conservation skills in the FUN class!

Requirement: Beginning/Beyond Beginning Japanese conversation classes or students who can make basic Japanese sentences.
10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Mondays, Jan. 8 - March 5 (no class 1/15) at Seattle Buddhist Church

HAND QUILTING WITH DIANE
Join this fun hand quilting class! Diane Taniguchi is very flexible and welcomes beginners to advanced level participants. Bring your project and/or fabrics you have been saving but had no idea what to do with it! Diane will give you great suggestions to get started and help to complete your project!
