Resident Care Manager
Nikkei Concerns, a non-profit elder care organization primarily serving the Greater Seattle area Japanese-American and Asian-American Communities, is seeking qualified applicants for their Resident Care Manager vacancy.
The ideal candidate will have a current Washington state RN/LPN license, knowledge of Washington state nurse practice laws and Federal guidelines governing long term care; experience or training in geriatric nursing practice, demonstrated leadership, management, teaching, public relations skills and at least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting, long-term care experience preferred.
Experience with Japanese and Asian culture is desirable.

Chief Finance Officer
We are currently seeking qualified applicants for our Chief Finance Officer vacancy. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; a minimum of 3 years accounting/finance managerial experience. Working knowledge/experience with Medicaid/Medicare in an elder care organization is highly desirable. Social Worker
General Duties:
- Coordinates and communicates regularly with staff and residents to advocate a program that meets the social, intellectual, creative, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of all our residents at their appropriate level of care
- Leads or attends various staff and care review meetings and resident care conferences
- Acts as ambassador and public relations representative to guests and other off-campus visitors
- Serves as information source for families and the community
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited school.
- Bilingual (Japanese) is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must be able to relate to residents and staff of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrate an appreciation for the heritage, values, and wisdom of our residents, including an understanding of the aging process

Licensed Nurse
General Duties:
- Provides direct nursing care to assigned residents within 75-bed continuing care unit. Provides direct supervision of Nursing Assistants to ensure appropriate clinical care that meets residents' changing needs.
- Performs and assist with technical nursing procedures
- Provides skilled nursing assessments and interventions as directed in the comprehensive plan of care
- Administers medications and treatments to assigned residents, following all appropriate physician's orders
- Documents daily alert charting on appropriate residents
- Reports significant condition changes to Charge Nurse or Clinical Care Coordinator
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management to meet changing job related requirements
- Handles all forms of resident Protected Health Information (PHI) in a confidential, private and secure manner
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of/or sensitivity to Asian cultures
- A strong desire to work with older adults and an understanding of the aging process
Education, Experience and Certifications:
- Graduate of an accredited program of nursing education
- Current Washington state LPN or RN license
- Nursing experience in long term care setting preferable, but not required

NAC-Certified Nursing Assistant
General Duties:
- Provides resident directed services based on resident care plans in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner that maximizes quality of life
- Cues, assists and/or provides personal care services for residents as directed by residents and/or resident care plan
- Takes and records vital signs; measures and records heights and weights
- Measures and records fluid and food intake and outp
- Recognizes and reports observations of changes in condition or residents' needs to Licensed Nurse
- Provides restorative intervention as directed by Licensed Nurses or other supervisors
- Demonstrates sensitivity to residents' emotional, social and mental health needs
- Makes and reports observations of residents' environment to ensure safety and comfort of resident
- Reports any accident, hazards or unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel
- Participates in care planning and nursing reporting process
- Demonstrates and promotes residents' rights including appropriate response to abuse and neglect
- Changes bed linens and makes beds
- Documents resident care appropriately before the end of shift
- Answers call lights in a timely manner
- Attends required in-services and trainings, 12 hours per year
- Performs all other duties as assigned by management to meet changing job-related requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A strong desire to work with older adults
- An understanding and appreciation of the aging process
- Understanding of/or sensitivity to Asian cultures
- An understanding of dementia and techniques for intervention and communication
- Have excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work with constant interruptions
- Must have good memory, recall and be detail-oriented
- Must be able to use sound judgment (problem resolution skills) in the execution of daily tasks
- Must be able to carry out verbal and/or written instructions
- Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to read/write/speak English
- Must possess basic mathematical skills
Education, Experience and Certifications:
- Current Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification or Nursing Assistant Registered Certification and is eligible to take the State Certification exam
- Some experience in working with the elderly, in other related service fields, or demonstrates the desire to do so
- Handles all forms of protected health information (PHI) in a confidential, private and secure manner
