CHAMPION SAND SCULPTURES AT HARRISON HOT SPRINGS RESORT
- Mon.-Wed., Oct. 4-6
Don't miss this unique opportunity to enjoy luxury accommodations
at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort and front door access to the
World Championship Sand Sculpture Competition. Your 2-night, 3-day
stay at the resort will include afternoon tea upon arrival, buffet
breakfast each day, one dinner in the Copper Room, a special cooking
demonstration, admission to the exhibition, and local sightseeing.

A taste of Autralia and Great Britain in this unique tour! Kangaroos,
wallabies, ostriches, emus and more await you at this unusual
farm east of Arlington. Later, visit the quaint town of Snohomish
for afternoon tea at Picadilly Circus. Bring a light lunch or
snacks to enjoy en route. 11am-5:30pm, $58 (includes transportation,
farm tour and afternoon tea.)

| WORKSHOPS
INTERMEDIATE
UKULELE WORKSHOP - Saturday, Oct. 2 & 23, 9am-12pm,
Midori Condos Community Room
This two-part
workshop is designed for those students who completed the Beginning
Ukulele class in Spring Quarter. Review songs practiced in the
beginning class and progress to playing more challenging pieces
including solos. Materials provided in class include a songbook
and cassette tape of songs to play. Jack & Helen Akamine and
John Iwai instruct. $30 (includes materials.)
ZOURI-BAKO:
PRINCESS SLIPPER BOX - Tuesday, Oct. 12, 10am-12pm, Midori
Condos Community Room
These adorable
little oval-shaped treasure boxes look just like a tiny pair of
zouri (Japanese slippers). Using cardboard and washi paper in
ready-made kits, you will assemble one box in class and have enough
materials left over to get started on another at home. Mendy and
Melisa Akai instruct. $20 (includes materials.)

KEYS TO SUCCESSFUL AGING - Wednesday,
Oct. 20, 10-11am, Midori Condos Community Room
Though getting
older is inevitable, we can choose how healthy and vibrant our
later years will be. This workshop will teach you the valuable
strategies for healthy aging, including: the most effective exercise
program for maintaining energy and vitality; how to combat weight
gain with age; the optimal diet for prevention of heart disease,
cancer, and other chronic illnesses; and key nutrients that delay
the aging process. Heather Nakamura instructs.$20.
