DISCOVER GREATER VANCOUVER AND NIGHT MARKET
On this overnight tour, we will discover more of the greater Vancouver BC area. Stretch your legs in White Rock, BC, a quaint town just north of the border. After
crossing the Fraser River, you will see the unique historical waterfront community of New Westminster. Let's have lunch at Westminster Quay Market where you will find
local delicatessens and restaurants for lunch on your own. After lunch, we will take a guided tour of Irving House, one of the historical heritage sites in BC. The next
discovery is the city of Burnaby. We will visit the Japanese Canadian National Museum and take a guided tour. We will return to New Westminster and check in at the Inn
at Westminster Quay, where all guest rooms have a view of the Fraser River. Our next destination will be Richmond, and we will enjoy an early dinner at Also Lounge &
Restaurant. Then we will be heading to the Richmond Night Market. You will have a chance to find your favorite vendors, as you will see over 400 booths of Asian food,
art & crafts and gifts! Don't forget to bring enough cash for shopping! The next morning, we will explore the waterfront of New Westminster. The last attraction for
this tour will be a Paddlewheeler Riverboat lunch cruise.

LUNCH BUNCH
Join us once a month for lunch in the fine company of your Nikkei Horizons comrades. These outings are a fun way to stay connected with your peers and try new and
different restaurants around Puget Sound. Often there's a little time for shopping or sightseeing along the way, as well. The first outing is decided for you, and the
last two will be decided by the group from a list of options presented by your escort. Price includes transportation and lunch for your escort and driver. Participants
pay for their own meal. You may join us for all three outings, or just one or two, but be sure to let us know on your registration form which dates you'll attend. Our
first lunch will be at Kisaku, a Japanese restaurant in the Green Lake area.

ORGANIC APPLE PICKING AND WINDMILL GARDENS
Not many farms offer their organic products to U-pick but Terry's Berries Organic CSA and Farm does! The farm is located in the Puyallup Valley. They also produce
organic vegetables and honey. Stop by their farm store to see what kind of seasonal farm products they have at the time. After you pick fresh apples, enjoy lunch at
Garden's Café. The café is one of several shops at Windmill Gardens in Sumner. We will also tour several gardens. Good news! The Gardens will have their Fall Plant
Sale while we are visiting! Let's find out what they have!!!

SWEET, SWEET AND SWEET!!!
Get ready for this fun, educational and sweet tour! The first destination will be Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream. We will take a tour of this ice cream plant in
the morning and have lunch at the company's Ice Cream Parlor. The name says it all. Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream is truly delicious. The company's products are hard
to find at regular grocery stores. Of course, we will try a scoop of ice cream for dessert! After we cool off, we will visit Elegant Gourmet for their factory tour.
We will learn about their history of candy making and experience the magic of seeing candy canes and old fashioned lollipops, cookies and chocolates being made. The
last destination will be Theo Chocolate. After a factory tour, we will see how their organic chocolates are produced. We might have an opportunity to taste these
delectable treats. Make sure to brush your teeth after this sweet tour!

UNDERSTANDING LONG-TERM CARE INSURANCE
Governor Christine Gregoire recently wrote, "Most of us will need some type of long-term care at some time in our lives." She announced the start of a
new program, Own Your Future, whose goal "… is to encourage everyone between 50 and 70 years of age to begin planning for their future long-term care needs."
This 2-hour workshop is designed to help retirees become informed consumers of long-term care insurance - whether to shop for a new policy or better understand the
features and limitations of an existing policy.

The Federal Trade Commission estimates that over 10 million Americans are victims of identity theft each year. Deborah Dowd, Senior Services of Seattle/King
County will teach you how to prevent, how to discover, and what to do if you have been the victim of identity theft. Come with questions and leave with information
about how to secure your personal information from theft.

MAKING TOFU FROM SCRATCH AND OKARA SALAD
Many of you may wonder how tofu is made, or have experience trying to make it, but were unsuccessful…this is the perfect opportunity to make homemade
tofu. Nobie Takahashi will teach you how to make tofu step by step. While you are waiting for your tofu to firm up, Betty Komura
will teach you how to make okara salad. Okara is the sediment of tofu, has good nutritional value such as fiber, protein, and calcium, and
assimilates cholesterol as well. Space is limited - sign-up quickly! Bring a cutting board, knife and plastic container to take your tofu home.

Take advantage of learning how to create holiday greeting cards. This 3-class session will give you an opportunity to work from a template to add text, pictures and clip art for quality, homemade greeting cards. Bring pictures and clip arts that you would like to use for your greeting cards. Don't miss this fun and creative class!

Would you like to learn to take digital photos that can be printed, attached to documents, or e-mailed to friends and family? This class will be an in-depth study of the unique features of digital cameras, how to use them and what benefits they can offer over regular cameras. Because digital cameras differ greatly from one model to another, this class will be based on the features of a basic model, the Sony Mavica II.
